Festival Awards
The MAIFF 2026 awards recognise excellence across AI filmmaking — from the Grand Prize to creative, technical, special, and regional categories.
The Grand Prize
MAIFF Total Prize
20,000 OMR
Awarded to the single film that best represents the fusion of artistic vision and artificial intelligence. Judged holistically across five equally weighted dimensions.
Artistic Vision
A clear, original creative concept with intentional storytelling and emotional or intellectual depth.
AI Integration
How meaningfully and purposefully AI enhanced the narrative, not merely generated content.
Cinematic Quality
Visual composition, sound design, pacing, and editing suitable for public screening at a major cultural venue.
Cultural Resonance
Universal themes or meaningful cultural perspectives that connect across borders and backgrounds.
Originality
Must be an original creation; remakes, parodies, or direct adaptations of existing IP are ineligible.
